Deschler Group Research
Research in the Deschler group explores the nature and dynamics of excitations in materials for energy applications—luminescent structures for optoelectronics, magnetic materials for information technologies, and mixed electronic‑ionic systems for energy storage. We investigate these materials with time‑resolved spectroscopies on ultrafast timescales using light pulses from X‑ray to infrared regions. Aiming for fundamental discoveries in materials, we elucidate their ultrafast phenomena. As an interdisciplinary team of chemists, physicists, and materials scientists, we currently focus on the following themes.

Open Positions
We continuously welcome applications for Master/Bachelor theses from students with background in chemistry, physics or material science. Experience in optical spectroscopy or semiconductor materials is of advantage, but not required.
We are happy to support applications for doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships.
If available, funded positions are advertised on the university job portal.
