Zaumseil Group
Welcome to the website of the Zaumseil research group, also known as the professorship for Applied Physical Chemistry (APC) or Nanomaterials for Optoelectronics (NMOE) group.
We are a highly interdisciplinary research group with a strong focus on the optical and electronic properties of carbon-based nanomaterials (mainly single-walled carbon nanotubes, SWCNTs) and organic semiconductors. We focus on processing, functionalization, characterization and application of these unconventional semiconductors for optoelectronic devices and sensors. We are particularly interested in charge transport and light-matter interaction and apply a wide range of experimental techniques from synthesis, optical spectroscopy (e.g., fluorescence spectroscopy, Raman microscopy etc.), surface analysis (e.g., atomic force microscopy), device fabrication to electrical and optical device characterization (transport measurements, electroluminescence etc.). Our main goal is to understand the properties of these novel materials on a fundamental level and tune and improve them for potential applications in sensing, imaging, circuits or energy conversion.
