Raytracing

Andreas Markmann

All images shown on this page were made with PoVRay between 1992 and 1997.
A chemical flask. This was made as an idea for an advertisement.
The GEB logo from the book Gödel Escher Bach in an oil painting effect.
Please view also the original raytraced image.
A stone arena. This demonstrates set theoretical operations available in PoVRay quite nicely.
A lens in front of a painting. This was my first raytraced image, back in 1992.
A smiley. Just a little finger-flexing exercise. The cosine-shape in the curtain proved to be problematic, but these bugs have been ironed out long ago.
A model of a plane. This was intended as a model for a 2D game at some point.
A cube inside the intersection of three cylinders. The reflection tracing depth has to be set to a small finite value (10 to 20) to get the fractal reflections, i.e. they are artificial or artefactual rather than real.
Sun is shining. This was made at the height of the techno boom in Germany, where everyone was wearing bright shiny colours.
