STC2001 starts on Sunday, 23 September 2001 with the opening of conference office and registration desk at 15.00 h and an informal meeting at 20.00 h. It ends after lunch at 13.30 h on Thursday, 27 September 2001. Official travel days are September 23 for arrival and September 27 for departure.
The full conference fee is 110.- DM, reduced to 55.- DM for students. The fee includes the costs for the Book of Abstracts and other printed matter.
No conference fee is charged to accompanying persons.
Participants will be accommodated at the House of the Church / Haus der Kirche - Evangelical Academy Baden and nearby hotels in Bad Herrenalb . The conference venue has 93 rooms, of which 86 are for single room occupancy and 7 double rooms. All rooms have showers/WC, a desk, TV connection (televisions can be rented at the reception) and telephone.
In the registration forms, space is provided for listing preferred partners sharing the apartments/rooms.

From the North : motorway A 5, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, direction Basel, exit Karlsruhe Rüppurr / Ettlingen / Bad Herrenalb.
From the South : motorway A 5, Basel, Freiburg, Strasbourg, direction Frankfurt, exit Karlsruhe Rüppurr / Ettlingen / Bad Herrenalb. (other route)
From the East : motorway A 8, München, Stuttgart, direction Karlsruhe, exit Karlsbad / Langensteinbach / Bad Herrenalb. (other route)
Through the Alb valley to Bad Herrenalb. In the town centre, left direction Dobel / Pforzheim. Past the Catholic church on the left hand side and follow the road another 100 yards. The Haus der Kirche - Evangelische Akademie Baden is on the left hand side.
From Pforzheim / Calw via Dobel and from Baden Baden via Gernsbach / Loffenau to Herrenalb. There are car parks above the conference venue on the right hand side.

The main train station of Karlsruhe is easily reachable from both airports by train (more details are listed at next item).
Public transportation in Baden-Württemberg
Train to Karlsruhe, then with the local tram S1 from Karlsruhe main station to Bad Herrenalb via Ettlingen, every hour between 6 and 24 o'clock. Another possibility is by bus from Pforzheim, Baden Baden or Wildbad / Calw. From Bad Herrenalb station it takes approximately 10 mins. by foot or by taxi.
Two alternative excursions will be organised on Tuesday afternoon (duration from 14.30 - 18.30h approx.):
The fee for either excursion is 25.-DM and should be payed together with the conference fee.

Please note that the symposium is booked out! Incoming registrations will be put on a waiting list and be further proceed later, if existing registrations are cancelled. Please do not pay the registration fee unless you receive explicit request to do so (beyond the automated response).

Payment of the conference fee must be made by money transfer upon registration (DM 110,- regular, DM 55,- for students). Accomodation charges (including meals) are to be paid separately to the Haus der Kirche.
